May 2026, the first Dare Together trip. A handful of people, booked ourselves, living together. Working during the day, and after that whatever the group felt like.
What follows are the photos from those five weeks, in the order they were taken.
A night flight, a stopover, and the first sight of the mountain comes through the window - before anyone has unpacked.

One house for everyone instead of rooms in separate hotels. A pool, rice fields at the door, the mountains on the horizon. The place everything ran through for five weeks.

Mornings, everyone sat with their own work. No shared office, no coworking - the kitchen table, the terrace, the café down the road. What held the day together were the meals.

Two days up, one night on the crater rim, leaving for the summit at two in the morning. Not everyone came along - it was optional anyway.

A week away from Lombok, east by boat: Padar, Komodo National Park, dinner on deck. This is not Lombok any more, but it is part of the trip.

The part you cannot plan. Someone suggests something, the rest come along.

Living together was the decision that carried the whole thing. Somebody was always at the table in the evening without anyone having to arrange it, and the conversations I do this for came out of exactly those evenings.
Three things I would do differently: plan earlier, be clear from the start about what people are signing up for, and check the house for internet before booking instead of hunting for it on site. All three are settled up front for Cape Town.

Two to three weeks, early 2027. Same idea, planned properly this time.
